Welcome to Shaw Music (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “Shaw Music”). By accessing or using shawmusic.org (the “Site”) and purchasing or downloading digital sheet music, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use this Site.
1. Use of Digital Sheet Music
All sheet music, arrangements, compositions, text, graphics, logos, and other content available on this Site are protected by United States copyright law and other applicable intellectual property laws.
When you purchase digital sheet music from Shaw Music, you are purchasing a license to use the music, not ownership of the copyrighted work itself.
Your purchase permits you to:
- Download and print the number of copies corresponding to the quantity purchased
- Use purchased music for lawful personal, educational, liturgical, rehearsal, or performance purposes consistent with that license
- Store purchased files for your own authorized use and archival purposes
You may not:
- Reproduce, distribute, share, email, upload, or transmit files beyond the number of licensed copies purchased
- Post purchased files publicly or privately online, including on websites, shared drives, cloud folders, social media, or file-sharing platforms accessible by others
- Alter, remove, or obscure copyright notices or publisher information
- Resell, sublicense, rent, or otherwise redistribute purchased files in any format
- Use the music in any manner that violates copyright law or the rights of composers, arrangers, lyricists, or publishers
Additional permissions must be obtained where required for public performance, livestreaming, recording, broadcasting, mechanical licensing, synchronization, or reprinting of copyrighted text.
Users are solely responsible for securing any necessary permissions from copyright holders and licensing agencies where applicable.
2. Copyright Compliance
Many works offered by Shaw Music include arrangements of copyrighted hymn tunes, texts, or other protected material. Purchase of sheet music from this Site does not replace or eliminate your responsibility to comply with all applicable copyright laws, including but not limited to permissions required through organizations such as CCLI, One License, ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, or direct publisher permissions where applicable.
Unauthorized duplication or distribution may constitute copyright infringement and may subject the user to civil and criminal penalties.
3. Orders and Payment
All prices are listed in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated.
Payment must be completed before digital downloads are made available. We reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or limit any order at our sole discretion, including in cases of suspected misuse, fraud, or licensing violations.
4. Refund Policy
Because digital products are delivered immediately and cannot be returned, all sales of downloadable sheet music are generally final.
Refunds may be considered only in cases of duplicate purchase, technical delivery failure, or clear product error, at our sole discretion.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific product at issue.

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
