This week I experimented by writing a piano solo for the left hand alone. Composers such as Brahms, Chopin, Liszt and Ravel have written compelling pieces for the left hand alone, often for performers who have lost use of their right hands. My piece is not nearly as virtuosic as some of theirs, but it does take a little coordination to play it successfully. Whether you are, as I am, a southpaw or not, HENDON (“Take My Life, and Let It Be“) will strengthen your (often neglected) left hand!
